Visiting New York for the First Time

Post by Rubak »

This will be my first time in New York City, and I could really use some tips. I`ve read so many guides and blogs, but it`s hard to figure out what’s worth seeing versus what`s just tourist traps. I’ll be there for five days, and I want to make the most of my time without feeling rushed. Also, I`m trying to figure out transportation, should I rely on the subway, or are taxis and rideshares better for a short visit? I`m also considering day trips outside the city, but I’m unsure how feasible that is. Any tips on planning an itinerary, avoiding long lines, and generally making the trip less stressful would be amazing

Five days is a decent amount of time, but you definitely need a plan to avoid wasting hours figuring out logistics on the spot. For getting around, the subway is your best friend; it`s fast, cheap, and pretty reliable once you get the hang of it. Taxis and rideshares are useful late at night or if you`re carrying heavy bags, but they can be expensive and slow in traffic. As for day trips, one popular option is to go from NYC to Boston or nearby cities by bus or train, it`s doable in a day if you leave early. I actually came across this article that explains some practical options for such trips, which helped me a lot when I was figuring out the schedule https://buffalonews.com/exclusive/artic ... 0db05.html
