Quote of the Day (#16)There is magic in the feel of a paddle and the movement of a canoe, a magic compounded of distance, adventure, solitude, and peace.Sigurd F. Olson

The Lower Mad is dropping, but not too fast. It should be above 320-300 cfs for the rest of the day, and may get a boost from additional snowmelt tonight, keeping it runnable on Saturday.
As of 12:30 pm, the Lower Lamoille (East Georgia gauge) is at 1,310 cfs and rising at a good pace. Anybody is looking for ~ 3 miles of Class II play and practice should consider getting on it. I think it will keep running at least through Saturday.
The Browns (Westford to Fairfax) might well be running at a decent level and contributing to the Lower Lamoille's flow. It should be getting significant snowmelt from Mt. Mansfield and the foothills on the west side of it. Chances are it won't be runnable on Saturday, but who knows?
The New Haven seems to have maxed out at 160 cfs and is now dropping. I don't expect it to rebound much tonight, if at all, so it won't be runnable.
The lower Winooski, including Winooski Falls, has plenty of flow, as it has all week. The snowmelt just gave it a boost.
