I'm sharing the following message from Sonia Szczesna about her upcoming film, and the Kickstarter campaign that is funding it:

Hey there!

My name is Sonia and I am writing to paddling clubs around the country to share a documentary film about kayaking that I'm working on called Canoandes '79.

The film tells the story of the rise of democracy in the Eastern Bloc through the lens of the first guys to ever paddle the deepest canyon in the world.
It's a great perspective on the early days of whitewater when paddlers were still making fiberglass kayaks at home and hand-sewing their own spray skirts. And you'll see some familiar faces such as
Rafa Ortiz, Chris Korbulic, and Jared Seiler talking about how the sport has changed.

We are currently working to get to our Kickstarter's stretch goal of $30k! If you would take a moment to check it out here:  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sourland/canoandes
and consider sharing the campaign with your club, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
Sincerely,

Sonia & Adam
