The Boston AMC classifies this as a III+ trip. It's a fast moving river, even when it's "flat". See their description here: https://activities.outdoors.org/search/index.cfm/action/details/id/114181&act=16
The forecast for Oct. 12 is showers with high in the 50's. The release is from 9-2, and from Richmond it takes a couple hours to drive there in I89, so we'll want to meet early to carpool from Richmond. Say, 7am. We need to go in 2 cars, minimum, in order to get in 2 laps before the release ends.
