The VPC has been active in promoting river stewardship and access to paddling
resources for over 30 years. Search the Bow and Stern archive using the term
"conservation" and you will find many worthwhile projects and accomplishments
that VPC members have to their credit.
The West River access issue
is now on the front burner in Vermont paddling circles, and the proposed weir
removal on the Little River is also getting a lot of attention.
Ryan McCall of Montpelier is the current VPC Conservation Chairperson. If you want
to become involved in the VPC on a conservation track, it would be a good idea
to start with a phone call (802-223-5986) or email to Ryan.
New for 2010: Tony is busy building a web application for creating and managing
annotated interactive river maps.
It is not ready for prime-time, but feel free to check
it out while it is still in development.
