It turns out that Jim Poulin isn't available to lead the trip. I'm stepping in for him.
The Lower Mad is perfectly runnable, although dropping. However, it's getting a bit old. I'd like to do something different.
Otter Creek is in the mid-900s (933 cfs as of 11:30 am), so let's do that. The wooded banks will be lush and beautiful on a sunny day in late May. There are features to play on upstream of the two main rapids.
Let's plan on meeting at 5:30 pm at the put-in on Belden Falls Road by the dam. We will set shuttle from there. (The takeout is at Pearson Road, just upstream of Huntington Falls Dam.)
