1.  As of late yesterday the tree that had been hanging low over the river left side of the river at the second-to-last rapid before the South Street bridge (about here) is now in the river. It is heavily laden with branches, so it's a really bad strainer. It can be bypassed fairly easily on the right, but one should take care, especially at low levels, since the flow trends towards the tree.

2.  There are now two overhanging logs framing the entrance to the far river right channel of the island rapid. One should stay in the middle of the channel at that point. They may sag into the river before too long and become real hazards, if they aren't swept downstream and out of play.
