I know noone who has eyes on Joe's Brook, but all the rivers east of the Green Mts. seem to be running 200-300% of normal for this time of year. Even with the GMP generator out-of-service, I don't worry there will be too little water for the scheduled Saturday 4/28 Joe's Brook trip. I do worry there may be too much water. If that happens I will propose we drive elsewhere to paddle, possibly over into NH (EB Pemi?, Gale?, Ammonoosuc? etc?). If you want to paddle Joe's Saturday, bring your throw bag, your first aid/pin kit, and your "A" game. There are plenty of blind corners with strainer potential, and it drops an average of 100 ft/mile for 8-10 miles, depending on where we want to take out. We need an early start. I'm thinking those who can meet at the Joe's Pond dam in West Danville at 8:30 should do so, and begin setting shuttle. Those who need more time in the morning to get to the junction of US2/US15 in West Danville should email or text me (324-8497), so we know how many shuttle vehicles we'll need to spot downstream. Plus, by email or text, I can give you directions to the actual put-in (which is definitely NOT the dam). If our group is big enough and the water is too high for some folks taste, we could consider splitting into 2 groups for the day. The Joe's level is ALWAYS hard to predict ahead of time, so we really can't/won't know until Saturday morning...
