As of 8:00 pm tonight the gauge is reporting 268 cfs, versus the New Haven's 230 cfs at 7:30 pm.

That looks much more reasonable.

 


 

UPDATE:  Here is the acknowledgement from the USGS:

Thanks so much  for letting us know about this! We try to check the streamgage graphs daily but had not yet picked up on the increasingly obvious flow discrepancy at this site... Anyway, upon further look, it became clear that the stage sensing location had moved during the significant July 1 peak. We made a visit yesterday to reset the stage, verify the peak stage, and then corrected the stage (and flow) hydrograph. Thanks again,
