This trip starts at Belden Fall Dam in New Haven, just north of Middlebury. The USGS gauge at Middlebury shows that Otter Creek has plenty of water. The only question is whether it will have too much flow for novice paddlers that want to join this trip.
Another option could be available. The Lower Lamoille is at a solid medium low flow tonight of 1,640 cfs. If it holds through tomorrow afternoon (with more rain late tonight) then I might run the trip on it instead of Otter Creek. This will also reduce the driving distance from Burlington and the Montpelier area.
We'll revisit this on Wednesday morning and make a decision then.
Meeting time: I'm thinking 5:30 to 5:45 pm in either case.
