Quote of the Day (#16)There is magic in the feel of a paddle and the movement of a canoe, a magic compounded of distance, adventure, solitude, and peace.Sigurd F. Olson

We're meeting Saturday (5/27) at the Milton Park & Ride (Route 7, near Exit 17) at 11:00 am.
We'll consolidate vehicles and head up Route 2 from there to the Grand Isle Ferry (Route 2 to Route 314-VT, ferry ride, Route 314-NY).* I expect to arrive at the Maplefields store in Redford, NY by ~12:30 pm for a food and restroom break, then head the short distance up to the takeout (bridge at Silver Lake Road and Route 3).
The trailhead for the put-in is 0.9 miles up Casey Road from Silver Lake Road. The put-in trail is a canoe trail on NY DEC land, about 150 yards long through the woods.
(* Take Route 314-NY to I-87 Exit 38N, onto Route 374 for 7.8 miles, take Route 3 to Redford.)
It looks like we are going to have at least as much water as on April 29 (4.9'), and maybe as much as 5.5 feet on the gauge. This is a solid medium level. It looks like additional rain bands could be swinging through the Saranac Lakes region this afternoon.
